The journey to Berlin is achievable - up to the water way (even this would be practicable) - with all conceivable means of transportation - in July, 1931 even the legendary "Graf Zeppelin" landed on the former airport Tempelhof (directly towards).
From both Berlin airports, Tegel (TXL) and Schönefeld (SXF), our flat is accessible relatively easily with public means of transportation, a short way by bus to the underground and one change on Hermannplatz.
Arrival in TXL: (Running time of both alternatives about 50 minutes - ticket AB)
- Bus X9 or 109 (begins at the airport)
- Drive to the subway station Jakob-Kaiser-Platz (pay attention with X9 Bus its the first hold!)
7 Direction Rudow until Hermanplatz- Change to 8 direction Hermannstraße until Boddinstraße (first stop - leave the station in direction of travel)
- Walk right through the Selchower Straße up to the end (about 300m) then go throug the Lichtenrader Straße cross the Herrfurthstrasse.
or:
- Bus 128 (begins at the airport)
- Drive to the subway station Osloer Straße
- 8 direction Hermannstraße until Boddinstraße (leave the station in direction of travel)
- Walk right through the Selchower Straße up to the end (about 300m) then go throug the Lichtenrader Straße, cross the Herrfurthstrasse.
Arrival in SXF: (Running time about 40 minutes - Pay attention, you need an ABC ticket!)
- Bus X7 or 172 (begins at the airport Flughafen)
- In night-traffic (from about midnight) this bus is named N7 and runs until Hermannplatz
- Drive to the subway station Rudow (begin of the line 7) until Hermannplatz
- Change to 8 direction Hermannstraße until Boddinstraße (first stop - leave the station in direction of travel)
- Walk right through the Selchower Straße up to the end (about 300m) then go throug the Lichtenrader Straße cross the Herrfurthstrasse.
Arrival by train from east and west (best station Hauptbahnhof): (Running time about 30 minutes)
- Change to
on the upper level (platform 15 - all trains of this platform are OK) drive until Janowitzbrücke. - Change to 8 direction Hermannstraße drive until Boddinstraße (leave the station in direction of travel)
- Walk right through the Selchower Straße up to the end (about 300m) then go throug the Lichtenrader Straße cross the Herrfurthstrasse.
Arrival by train from north and south (best station Südkreuz): (Running time about 20 minutes)
- Change to on the upper level (platform 12 - all trains of this platform are OK) drive until Hermannstraße.
- Change to 8 (begins there) drive until Boddinstraße (leave the station in direction of travel)
- Walk right through the Selchower Straße up to the end (about 300m) then go throug the Lichtenrader Straße cross the Herrfurthstrasse.
Arrival by Cab (Destination has to be Lichtenrader Straße, Neukölln):
- Airport Tegel about 30 minutes, fare about 35 €
- Airport Schönefeld about 35 Minuten, fare about 27 €
- Hauptbahnhof, about 20 minutes, fare about 18 €
- Centre East (Hackescher Markt) about 20 minutes, fare about 18 €
- Centre West (Kurfürstendamm / Kranzlereck) about 20 minutes, fare about 18€
